What Not To Do On The Jobsite

Thursday, March 10, 2016 2:58:31 PM America/Los_Angeles

The Safety Guru group on Flickr has an interesting collection of safety photos from different contributors in locations around the world. I visit occasionally to see what’s new. Unfortunately I only post photos with direct permission from the photographer so I can’t use the 3rd party photos from that group. But you still can check it out and laugh… or groan.

Today’s photo was provide by P. Adkin which he shot when he was in China.  Here is a guy working on a deck approximately 20 feet off the ground with no fall protection equipment.  He should have on a safety harness along with a lanyard attached to an anchor point.  It looks like a French Creek parapet anchor would work in this situation.  This anchor secures to the top of a concrete wall.  Thanks so much for allowing us to use your photo.Need for parapet anchor

Stay safe my friends!

Some Facts About Rooftop Anchors

Monday, September 28, 2015 4:23:50 AM America/Los_Angeles

In today's construction environment, most engineers are specifying roof anchors that are permanently built into the building at the time of construction. These anchors should be sturdy and enable construction workers and along with window washing equipment to move up and down along the sides of the building without fear of failure. Roof top anchors are always needed to secure the window washing equipment in high rise buildings. Lives are on the line with roof anchors, therefore these connectors must meet the standards set by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration, more commonly known as OSHA.
